MEGA-Line will be launching its steering wheel construction kit at PMW Expo. It provides an easy and cost-effective solution to deliver a tailored steering wheel, and offers a huge variety of state-of-the-art steering wheel functions and features, allowing customers to pick and combine the desired ones and condense them in a bespoke steering wheel designed to their exact needs.

Outstanding features include active backlight illumination, where actively lighted buttons, rotaries and labels ensure perfect visibility, even during darkness, making the requirement of cockpit UV lighting obsolete, while supporting cockpit design and drivers by adding logic to button lighting (for example toggling and colour change based on defined criteria) to give visual indications.

Exchangeable grips are also included, providing an easy and cost-effective way to account for different driver ergonomics and significantly reduce running costs, by allowing one of the major consumables of a steering wheel to be quickly changed.

Two-way paddles allow one-handed up- and down-shifts, and a 5in display and software enable customers to create their own display pages without any involvement from MEGA-Line (reducing costs and lead time for new display pages) with state-of-the-art display functions such as colour change of live values or background, fully configurable pop-up messages, bar functions with colour changes and different segments.

The company believes these features enable customers to create a tailored wheel, perfectly matching their requirements at a reasonable development budget and within a significantly shortened development timeframe.
