Complete KERS Competency & Integration Presented at The Show
Podium Engineering

Podium Engineering will be showcasing its latest KERS systems and multi-disciplinary skills and competencies developed specifically for race car engineering and development.

Each energy storage project is unique, but this does not mean that the development of a tailored made battery pack needs to be a time-consuming and expensive process. Podium delivers solutions for smaller and lighter batteries, while maintaining the flexibility of racing into the engineering process and the smartness of prototypes into the manufacturing of a bespoke system.

Its modelling and simulation of Li-ion cells aids system design, thermal management assessment and validation (extensive CFD Simulation was used to analyse coolant liquid flow). The company also implements final performance evaluation against real drive profiles (i.e. Le Mans, Nordschleife) thanks to its in-house battery testing facilities.

The Podium proprietary battery management system (BMS) enables optimized battery usage through advanced SoC and SoH Algorithms and low power consumption, while its novel use circuits, that include temperature and voltage sensing, makes them part of the BMS and further reduces weight.

Bringing together multidisciplinary skills and competencies from both research and industry environments, Podium Engineering’s mission is to combine a research approach with methodologies based on motorsport expertise. From sketches to complete racing cars, from high-performance hybrid powertrains to vehicle prototypes, the company says that its motorsport roots guarantee a fast response and reliable solutions to teams and companies who want to develop customized high- tech solutions.
